This Privacy Policy describes how the CosNFX mobile application ("CosNFX", "the app", "we") handles your information. CosNFX is a gesture-controlled sound and effects application for Wear OS, with an optional Android phone companion.
The developer does not collect personal data or app analytics through CosNFX. The app runs on your devices and does not require a CosNFX account or sign-in. Profiles, settings and imported media are stored on your devices. Optional device connections, external cues, Google Play purchases and Android system backup are described below.
CosNFX does not send the developer personal data, app analytics, usage statistics, location data or contacts. Motion data is processed on the watch to detect gestures; your saved profiles, calibrations, custom gesture recordings and settings support the features you configure.
Android system backup and device transfer may include app settings, profiles, calibrations, custom gesture recordings and artwork, depending on your device and backup settings. The watch's sound-library folder, including uploaded audio, and its cached Pro status are excluded from that backup. CosNFX does not provide a developer-operated cloud backup service.
CosNFX uses the watch's motion sensors, audio playback, vibration and network access for the features below. It does not request camera, microphone, contacts or location permission. Audio files you choose to import are stored on the watch and can be sent to a connected phone or Mission Control browser for playback. These permissions are not used to collect personal data for the developer.
The optional Mission Control web interface connects a browser directly to the watch on the same Wi-Fi network, using a pairing PIN displayed on the watch. Battle mode communicates with other watches on the local network.
The Android phone companion exchanges configuration, gesture events and selected sounds with the watch through Google's Wear Data Layer. This uses Bluetooth when available; Google Play services can route the connection through Google's cloud when Bluetooth is unavailable. This communication does not pass through a CosNFX developer server.
External device control (Props) sends the cues you configure directly to your chosen destinations. Plain HTTP, OSC and Art-Net targets are restricted to local-network addresses. HTTPS cues may go to public internet services; those services receive the request, including any URL or request-body data you configured, and handle it under their own policies.
CosNFX is free to install. It offers a single optional one-time "Pro" in-app purchase that unlocks additional features. Purchases are processed by Google Play billing; CosNFX does not receive or store your payment card details. The watch and phone query Google Play for purchase status and use Google's purchase token to acknowledge a completed purchase. The watch caches whether Pro is unlocked so it can retain the last known status when Play is unavailable; the app's billing code does not persist purchase tokens or send them to a developer server. Google's handling of purchases is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
CosNFX does not contain third-party advertising and does not use any advertising or tracking SDKs.
CosNFX is intended for users aged 13 and older. The developer does not collect personal data from children through the app.
Google Play handles purchases, Google Play services provides the Wear Data Layer, and Android provides system backup as described above. If you configure cues to an external service, that service receives those requests. CosNFX does not include third-party advertising or app analytics services.
